[MR2] MR2] I was interested to know, does anyone on the forum own a MK2 MR2, and it's more expensive alter ego, the Lotus Esprit

Yeah I'm able to do that, it's the first time getting it spooled or
that quick response you want when someone surprises you on the
expressway wanting to go! I had a Volvo spank me badly once that I could
have beaten if it weren't for that lag. That darn Volvo opened up a
whole lot of road in a hurry! Once my MR2 spooled & was in the power
curve I started to quickly catch up and could have overtaken him but by
then we had gone about 1.5 miles and the race was over & at 120+ the cop
fear was kicking in. I've got it down pretty good at being able to keep
it spooled when making a 90 degree turn onto another road.

I just wish
I was as smart & talented as some of these guys who are able to really
make these cars perform.

through driving technique. Keep the revs up (gear down) and use
left-foot braking and/or heel-and-toe to keep the engine under load and
the turbo spun up. Takes a little practice, but does make a
difference--not that it's something I would do all the time in daily
driving.
