Wow. Submerged for three years, then a tasteless remark to announce your recovery.

  A new safety feature:

They are visible at night because they glow in the dark!

The legal concerns of importing a JDM car involve crash test and emissions regulations. The side from which you drive is not the obstacle. As mentioned, RHD mail trucks/Jeeps and (privately owned) RHD Subarus have been sold here in the US, but they are US cars built with RHD. That's very different from a privately imported, secondhand, foreign market vehicle that was not built to comply with US laws.

Typing "importing jdm cars to usa" into Google provided a few pretty good places to start. Try this:
  http://www.j-garage.com/imports.htm

There's a popup link on that page outlining obstacles that US buyers will face, and that popup has the following links:
  http://www.epa.gov/otaq/imports/quikover.htm
  http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/
  http://www.customs.ustreas.gov/xp/cgov/import/

That should be enough reading to get a good basic idea of what you're likely to face.

This looks like another fun place to do some window shopping:

Here in Michigan, my mail carrier special ordered & drives a RHD jeep.
Not sure if mail carriers get special treatment.
