I only say this because I recently broke the sway bar on my '05 911 and it was night and day. Very noticeable. When you are going around a turn such as a long sweeping ramp from one freeway to another it feels like the back end wiggles as you bounce over every bump and lots of body roll. Scary. I replaced my stock bar with an H&R and put it on the second stiffest setting (Out of 4 to choose). You can feel every bump, pebble, bottle cap, twig, etc. Thats a super rigid sway bar. I wouldn't want my MR2 to be that rigid because I want to drive it more often then any of my other cars. The 911 is a straight up track car. Nothing about it is comfort and the more rigid the better. Which is why I went with the 24mm solid sway bar. Stock was 19mm hollow. If you want better performance and less comfort then get the sway bar. If you are tracking it then I would guess you will be able to take the corners much harder and faster if you had a sway bar. But I have never ridden in a mk1.
