[MR2] How common is a jumpy speedo on mk2 mr2s?

It's just something that happens as the speedo cable ages. I have had it happen on both cars - as I recall feeding a new one into the mr2 wasn't much fun but nothing unpleasant. You may have to tie a string to the old cable as you pull it out (been so long I forget the exact procedure) but the other end fits onto the gear of the transaxle. 

Replace it with a new one and voila - problem gone.

How common is a jumpy speedo on mk2 mr2s?  Mine is pretty accurate at
anything above 20 mph, but below that it jumps.  I'm just wondering how bad
I can expect it to get.
