[MR2] Cold weather, cooling fan light, and coolant loss

Felix, I am just guessing like everyone else (but then, you get what you pay for!) but I think the coolant loss (1 quart at one time) is unrelated to the fan light. I have changed the coolant and sometimes over a few weeks it will finally burp out. 

Someone suggested a long time ago to run the car over speed bumps rapidly (making sure suspension doesn't fall off the car) - to "burp it". 

When I have had alternators go out, ALL of my idiot lights tend to be illuminated ever so slightly - not really glow. 

So I think it is the temp sensor (as Dennis suggested) that is triggering your light.
