[MR2] New Car "do-dads"

I had a bad experience with ABS when the wheels on the left side of the
vehicle were on bare pavement, but the right side wheels were on a slippery
surface. The ABS would not allow the wheels to grip on the bare pavement
since it sensed slipping on the right and I went right through an
intersection, where I would have easily been able to stop with a vehicle
without ABS.

I think ABS is a mixed blessing, where it keeps you from spinning out on ice
if you keep the pedal down, but in other situations it is more of a
hindrance than a help.
