[MR2] Dash lights flash

(I seem to be having trouble posting to the list - my apologies if this ends up on the list several times)

 

My 88 MK1 just started having an intermittent symptom - as the revs cross about 4k, the brake, cooling fan and charge light flash briefly.

It only seems to do this when it is cold (which is a relative term here in Phoenix!).

Yesterday, they came on and stayed on until I had got to work. I switched the engine off, then restarted and they went out and stayed out.

The voltmeter is showing a nice healthy reading - its in the same position it always has been. - update: I noticed that the voltmeter does tick up a notch when the lights flash.

I'm thinking a sticking relay. This symptom ring a bell with anyone?
