[MR2] Suspect suspension problem... Concerning thumping sound! Urgent help needed.

do you have a rough idea of where in the suspension the clunking is
coming from? up high near the strut top or down low more near the wheel
if the clunk is up high, try re-tightening the struts to the strut top
and the strut top to the chassis.
if the sound is lower, make sure the gland nut is securely holding the
strut into the strut housing, then inspect the 2 primary nuts/bolts
holding the strut housing to the knuckle.
beyond that, inspecting the front strut rod (links the lower control arm
to the front of the chassis - well, on the MKI) nuts, the lower control
arm nuts, would all be wise things to inspect while you're down there.
download the MKII Repair Manual there. it will have more detail that i
can put into words and give you visual references for everything as well.
