[MR2] 85 alt pegged

Hi guys.  Driving my 85 mk1 last night on a short run (thankfully), all the warning lights went on as the alt briefly pegged the meter at about 22V, then returned to normal.  Did it once more before I got home.  Bad internal regulator I guess?  Replaceable or rebuild at an electric shop needed?  Too bad they don't plug in on the outside like many older Bosch.  Much simpler - more reliable too in my experience.  TIA, Ron.
