Ok, my car has been down for quite a while now. I have replaced the plugs, wires, rotor, cap, and coil so far. The fuel pump is working and fuel is getting into the cylinders, there are no engine codes, no fluids, etc, leaking. This began after the last snow. I came home, everything was fine, then the next morning, I tried to start the car and it fired once, then shut down and has not started since. I have not checked compression yet, but the timing belt is still intact as the rotor still moves when I try to start it. I have not checked timing either bc I did not want to pull the Valve cover off and try to get the t-belt covers off if I could fix it with something simple. There are no CEL codes. The battery is fresh and it was turning over fine. One thing I do notice is that the engine sounds different when it is turning over and it doesn't seem to spin over as fast as before. This is also the case when using the jump setting on a battery charger as well. I was wondering if the alternator could be seized and preventing the engine from turning over fast enough. I only ask bc I had an issue during the first snow storm where the car started, stayed at 300 rpm for a bit wit hreally dim lights, let out an alternator squeal and then started working normally.
Oh, 91 T with a 3rd gen 3sgte
All help greatly appreciated. If anyone is around the charlotte/rock hill area and wants to check it out, lemme know
Chris
