[MR2] Re-wiring problems:-(

The starter has 2 wires (1 large from batt, 1 small from engine harness) and a connector.  The alt has 1 large and a connector.  As Aaron said, the transaxle wire is a ground that can be connected anywhere on the chassis.  I'm drawing a blank on the gray wire.  The 2-pin gray connector is probably the reverse switch which is mounted on the tranny in the general area you're describing.
