[MR2] Frozen brake bleeders

Yeah, I'm learning that careful mechanics requires thinking not only about
how to solve the problem in front of you, but also how to get out of the
mess if it mucks up while doing it. I have broken several bleeders on a '60
Volvo that I cut my teeth on. I found screw extractors worked reliably as
the bleeder metal seemed on the soft side, whereas extractors in head bolts
were a major mistake. Moreover, the bleeder already has a hole in it, so
you don't have to drill it to use the screw extractor; very convenient.
Haven't experience on the MR2 though.

Any good tricks? If one does break, can they be extracted safely/reliably?
Or should I just pick up remanufactured calipers? Or is there a usable
trick to bleed them without bleeders...
