I've used that method myself, but as you pointed out, that will only locate a vacuum leak, not a boost leak.

Though I am impressed with the "we need an impressive tool" that Ken has provided - and yes, I would like to have one in the
tool box - but I am of the old school where a can of carb cleaner or starting fluid used at critical points usually finds the
leak. Of course if it was something that only opened up with boost and the spray-at-idle method might not work, but it might
be worth a very quick and dirty try.
