[MR2] mk1 steering column play

Sounds too familiar.  Is this an actual break, and not the play in the
rubber coupling we were discussing a couple of weeks ago?  Or maybe that
was on another mailing list...?

    Hi guys.  I'm trying to help a buddy fix the above in a mk1 located
in Santa Cruz, CA (far from my OH home).  If I understand him correctly
there is play in the shaft itself between the upper and lower u-joints
like a pressed-together part of the shaft has come loose somehow.
Anyone ever run across this?  Might be in need of a steering column with
key.  Anyone anywhere near there have a spare?  TIA, Ron.
