[MR2] Mk II steering column lock pawl

N'er mind. I predrilled a .031 hole through the center of the roll pin,
then drilled an 1/8" from the other side, popped it out, ground off the
sides a bit for access to the tab on each side of the potmetal cover, hit it
with a drift to release it, broke off the other side because I didn't ease
it a little at a time on each side, sent the internal spring and main part
of the cover flying across the workbench. Then it was easy to remove the
lock cylinder (with the key in it), and remove the pawl. Remounting the
assembly requires new 8-1.25 x 20mm or so socket head screws (or the
original break-off bolts) to mount back onto the steering column. Probably
coulda done a bit better had something somewhere in the BGB told me how the
thing was assembled--probably it's an assembly that they don't want anyone
to service.
