[MR2] MkI SC alternator

I pulled the alternator yesterday.  The brushes were worn but
not worn out.  The symptoms were no voltage being produced.
I checked the regulator by replacing it with a known good one
(note:  the SC has an external regulator).

Now it seems the problem lies with the 'read wire', a little
circuit board with the 3-wire connector.  The regulator
connects through the read wire. Does anyone have a
schematic for the read wire?  I can see a diode, but the
other parts are potted and hidden.
