[MR2] MkI ttransmissions, 5th gear

As far as I know every 85-86 came with the C50. Now I have used synthetic gear oil since the car had 36,000 miles (240,000 now) and never had a problem with the 5th gear pop-out - what Marc says would make sense in that if it depends on splash the synthetic tends to stick longer 

When I had my synchros changed (still C50)  the transmission shop said it was a bear getting the parts since over the 4 year run they had 4 different transmissions - I am sure he was counting the SC also - but getting parts for the C50 - had to go to Japan. 

I would just swap a C52
