Although this may be heresy to many Toyota owners out there, I've noted that
Toyota will hold on to the point of going to the Supreme Court before
correcting any design or series manufacturing flaw. Recalls? HA! Let 'em
sue.
>From a business standpoint, smart. From a consumers standpoint, very
irritating (insert old picture of arte johnson in WWII German helmet
twirling mustache). I suppose a good portion of this attitude stems from
having good (expensive) lawyers, and a huge loyalty factor amongst its
buyers.
I've known people who have spent fortunes in waaay too high shop
charges keeping their car on the road and had the gall to praise its
reliability, where the poor schmuck who drives a Dodge 150k miles without
more than a handful of oil changes will bad mouth the car when it dies.
Mnumbini Krimbalsado was right when he said, "Perceptions are only half the
loaf".
