My NA had quite leaky t's when I first bought it. I started out with the
black caulk stuff. That didn't help any, but it was likely my procedure. I
would put some on, but it would prevent it from sealing further down the
line somewhere. Then I did the dielectric grease deal, which helped a
little. Then I put on the eccentric guides on the tops only. THAT stopped
the tops from leaking altogether, except during torrential downpours. Now
the only place I have a leak is about half way up the glass on the forward
part of the door, hence the new door seal I have yet to put on.
A neat way to check your t-top seal is to dust the glass with baby powder or
some such, put some vinyl protectant on the seal, then seat the tops. You
can see where I'm going. If the powder isn't gone along the seal's pathway,
then you know that is where you are leaking. :) I would credit someone with
that idea, but I can't remember who told me.
As is said, YMMV.
