[MR2] mr2 none, Mechanix gloves (or similar)

Some years ago, a fellow list member turned me on to these gloves (seeing 
the scabs all over my hands must have been a clue) and I now use them in 
almost every automotive endeavor (I've even found the single ply light duty 
ones make pretty fair driving gloves).

But, I keep wearing holes in the thumb and right finger portions which 
leaves an unsightly oil stain on those aforementioned fingers, not to 
mention that snaggy things will seemingly leap halfway across an engine 
compartment to grab those holes.

Has anyone found a satisfactory repair technique for this?  Just bite the 
bullet and toss them?
