[MR2] MK2 Turbo Noise

I posted this about 2 weeks ago but I still have not been able to find the problem. It was suggested that maybe the noise at 2100 rpm was from the exhaust heat shield. After removing all shields the mechanical resonance noise still exists at 2100 rpm.
   
  This noise is hard to isolate the source. It now appears to be near the front of the engine, maybe the the metal plate between the timing belt and head. During the rebuild we made sure that all screws were in place and torqued to spec. 
   
  This noise existed before the complete engine rebuild. Any ideas from anyone would be appreciated.
