I bought my 1987 MkI in April 1995, completely factory with no modifications.
Since then, I've done quite a bit of work to it, and I've had a few minor
setbacks from time to time, as anyone who modifies a vehicle does. I'll go
ahead and start now with the modifications I've finished, and later, I can
list my plans for the future.

Modifications include:
- 13x7 triple gold Roadstar rims
- 13/175/50 BF Goodrich tires
- Chrome fender trim
- Chrome rocker panels
- Black velvet interior (Door panels, dash, center console, seats, and pillars)
- 20% visibility window tinting with gold patterns
- Purple neon shifter
- Partial bra over headlights
- Viper 900 Pro security system
- Radically upgraded sound system

My sound system consists of:
- Pioneer cassette head unit
- Panasonic 6-disc CD changer
- Rockford Fosgate OEQ-1 signal processor
- MTX RTX02A 3-way Crossover
- Advent 50 watt, 4 channel ampplifier
- Alpine V12 MRV-F400 amplifier (40 watts, 4 channels)
- 4 Blaupunkt 3 1/2" coaxial speakers
- Cerwin Vega Stealth Series 6" components with 1" tweeter
- 2 Rockford Fosgate 8 ohm Punch subwoofers
- 4 Motorola 1" tweeters
- Fully custom subwoofer enclosures
- Fully custom amplifier rack

Since my car isn't perfect, let me note the imperfections:
- Pits in the hood (Will be repainted once I get the cash)
- Scratches in the paint (Will be repainted once I get the cash)
- Cracked windshield (I'm not replacing it till I get another vehicle)
- Cracked airdam (Gotta buy a new one)
- Broken speedometer (No one wants to fix it)
- Damaged Fender trim (I will be replacing it soon)
- Minor dent in drivers side (Thanks to my dad)
- Inside of luggage compartment, paint is chipping (Due to a brake fluid spill)

I recently took my custom rims and fender trim off temporarily and put my factory
wheels back on because the reversed rims caused my tie-rods to bend, and one
eventually broke. They also prevented me from being able to completely turn my
wheels because they rubbed the fender-wells, and bent up my fender trim as well.
I decided to sell them and find me a set of euro-style 16x8 rims with BFG
16/195/40 tires. Once I've got the correct wheels, I will start beefing up the
suspension with lowered struts and springs and anti-sway bars. I also found a
TRD header, and although a free-flow exhaust system is not made for the '87 MkI,
the TRD representative said he could refer me to one that could be modified to fit.
Once that's done, I've gotta start looking for more high-performance mods I can do.
While looking around, I'm probably going to paint it the same color to get rid of
the scratches and pits, but I'll add a little touch of class with black & yellow
racing stripes and an F40 spoiler.
