I bought my White, 1992 MR2 GT, 47k miles on the clock in August 1996 from BMG Toyota in Aylesbury. When I bought it, it had 3 previous owners (the garage and 2 lady drivers). To BMG's credit, they admitted that the clutch (which I thought was rather light) was worn, and replaced it - they also paid for a replacement radiator as the one in the car was corroded and leaking - apparently common in MR2s over 40k miles. In 14,000 miles of driving since then, I've never had a single problem.
It's the best car I've ever driven - I had a Calibra Turbo before (engine blew up!) and a 1980 escort RS2000 (both red). While the RS was great fun to drive and the Calibra was a lot quicker, the MR2's handling is near-perfect. I just wish it had a bit more power.
To this end, I'm currently looking into the possibility of acquiring an MR2 turbo. Not an easy task, as a lot of Toyota dealers don't stock them (some have never even seen one). Apparently they can;t sell cars without warranties and they can't warranty imported cars (MR2 turbos have never been sold in the UK).
