This has been my baby since April of 1992. I wanted a Supercharged MR2
since the first time I drove one when they were new, but couldn't afford a new
one. Before this car, I owned two normally aspirated MR2's, both '86 models.
This car gets autocrossed very often, as did both MR2's before it. Starting
this summer (1999), I plan to begin running the car in track events as well as
autocrossing it. I don't *ever* plan to sell this car.

I recently had the car apart for 8 (!!) months doing a major project
which was motivated by the need to replace the clutch. By the time I was done,
I'd rebuilt the transaxle, and the whole engine as well, with the exception of
the lower end. The cylinder walls looked very good, and at 112K miles, it's just
getting broken in well, for a Toyota. I replaced all the water hoses, vacuum hoses,
water pump and other maintenance items, in addition to installing the new flywheel,
clutch, limited slip, and camshafts. I figure the car is good for another ten
trouble free years.

It's driven most days, and has been used for several cross country trips.
I think it makes an excellent road trip car. I've done several trips to Michigan
from Washington state in my various MKI MR2s (2000+ miles each way). The highlight
of these cross country trips is the 700 miles of high speed travel in Montana.
This is the only place I know of that you can let this car run like it wants to.
Be prepared to get about 20 mpg at these speeds, however. The car could use a
bigger gas tank for this duty.

Future plans include a water/air intercooler and a Cusco or Blitz pulley
for more boost. After that, it's pretty much exactly like I want it.
