I have a 85 MR2 with 79,000 and it's the best car I ever had. Unfortunately, the engine has kaput and I'm junking it. Was it worth it? OHHH YEAHH.. It and was worth every penny when I bought it used three years ago. Unfortunately there's alot of engine damage and it's not worth it to fix, and I have to junk it for emmissions purposes before I get fined. So long ol buddy.....

Wed Apr 4 15:04:50 2001
I recently purchased my first MR2 this past November. I had my heart on a 1991 or newer, but couldn't pass up the '86 I found on a small dealer's lot. It's one of the oldest cars I've ever owned, and also one of the cleanest. I'm still tryin to decide whether or not to upgrade or leave it stock, as it is an awesome little car as is. I plan on getting a 91 or newer as my next adventure. My advice to anyone pondering the idea of buying one is to go for it! Drive Safe!

Am a new enough MR2 owner, 93 model, and i wanted to comment that this site is helpful. HOWEVER, i also want to comment that i have found weird folks, like the MR2 performance product site, www.mr2pp.com, when i called the dude, he didn't even identify himself, wanted check only, i had to add the total cost of the parts, and asked me to look up the address and send the check to him. Needless to say, this sounds really weird, i am being asked to send a check with no written confirmation from the company for the order. Point is BEWARE, and maybe, as an official site, folks may want to SCREEN OUT BAD company practices. Just an experience...

I have an 89' MR2 that just turn 100,000 miles. I'm the 3rd owner for this vehicle, which I'm giving my son when he get his license. Already he has big plans on what he wants to do on the vehicle. I'm thinking twice if I really want him to have. I'm having second thoughts since I'm having fun driving the car.

I own a 1987 which I aquired in 91. I have just rebuilt the car from bumper to bumper because of my love and ability for the automobile. My head was done by a man that builds nascar with 3mm shimming specs. I am currently looking for a state of the art tuned exhaust system. Help in finding such would be appreciated.

Has anyone installed a Japanese Turbo Engine into a NA vehicle? Problems ? Costs ? We have a 92 Mr2 and found a 95+ Japanese engine/trans with ECU and harness, trans has LSD. Some have said "bolts right in" and some have said its a nightmare that won't end. Please advise.

I just bought an 89' MR2 and I am having so much fun with this thing...it's unreal. In canada it is hard to find one with a t-roof and a supercharger together (but I got it).It has had several paind jobs and has gone under the knife for rust but is like a new car again. this car is faster than I thought it could be, and gives quite a kick in the ass when the supercharger kicks in.So far I have swapped seats with an 87' because the original leather seats have cracked along the seems and I traded in the 89' stereo console for the 87' as it fits the stereo nice and snug.A freind of mine who deals with cars usualy comes across scap vehicles to do other projects that he may be working on. He called me up one day and said he had an MR2 for parts, so I stripped it to the bone.Too bad the motor had been blown three ways from sunday or else I would have taken it to have something to modify as I still drove the original.Anyway, I'm quite happy with this little toy and I hope somebody cou!
ld e-mail me back at email@example.com to give me some tricks on what to do with it.

Nice site chaps!
i'm in need of some clear corners!! anyone tell me where i can get them in the uk?
has anyone had to have their tappets re-shimmed?
i think mine need doing because of a tapping noise the engine makes @ 3000
rpm it gets louder as the engine warms up aswell!
apart from that, my '92 Gt is sweet as a nut even with 100.000 miles on it.
;-) safe motoring!

I am the proud owner of a liquid silver, 2001,MR-2 Spyder. Wish it had 250bhp and a 3.0L engine to beat the Boxter in speed. It definitely beats the Boxter in looks. Love the room it has for a blonde and a tooth brush.A dream of mine come true.Already got a paint chip on the front bumper on day 1 (sigh). Anyone know how to keep it from happening again? How about putting on a mask (bra)? Any ideas fellas. Don't particularly want to put a mask(bra), but does anybody have the experience. Give me the pros and the cons please.

I absolutely adore my '93 white MR2! I've had it for 5 years and unfortunately I have to get a bigger car for my job. I'm trying to figure out how I can afford to have two cars so that I can keep my baby.....However that seems unlikely so if anyone knows someone interested - it's in fantastic shape. I am purchasing my fathers MR2,1987 from his estate, he passed away a few weeks ago, I don't know anything about the car, except he babied it, it has less than 50,000 miles on it. He loved that car. It was nice reading all the good things owners have to say about it. As well as having its own web site.
It will be my mid life crisis car.

Hi got a problem with a 89NA. According to the owners handbook the TVis should
have a power band of 4300 to whatever your brave enough to go to. But the power increase doesn`t cut in till about 4800. OK it ain`t a lot but at times
it`s like waiting for a turbo to spin up. Any help will be appreciated.
