I am the former owner a MR2.Until an idiot driving a mercury cougar pulled out of traffic blindly.To make a long story short I hit the guy doing 50mph with out even having time to think about hitting the brakes.I emerged un-scratched however my car was not so lucky (totaled).I then made the mistake of buying the biggest piece s#$t I've ever owned.(Mitsubishi 3000GT SL)The performance difference is disturbing both my car now and the MR2 are non-turbo and even with two more cylinders the 3000GT just can't hold a candle to my old car.Not to mention the handeling my front wheel drive car is not very fun to drive at all.

The mr2 is the best ,im so looking forward to purchasing a 1986 toyota mr2 in a couple of weeks.The fisrt time i've seen a mr2 i instantly fell in love with it.And now that i'm purchasing one its going to make driving that much more exciting ever time i set in that drivers seat.but the best thing on it will be my hks 3 1/2 inch pipe on it.Make sure the neighbors hear me come home after work..haha

I bought a 94 mr2 a couple of months ago and i love it.Its fully optioned bar the non turbo engine. Here in OZ we did not get the turbo variant but i,ve noticed that there are a couple of local importers supplying this most appealing option.Most of the forums i,ve read about the turbo make it sound like an explosive device waiting to be detenated,and i must say i,d love to be the guy igniting that deternater.Maybe next year when the market recovers a little, i think in the mean time i,ll enjoy what i have........

Hi, This site is kewl. I have a MK1 MR2 and I love it! best car i have ever drivin, hehe thats because i havent drivin a MK2 MR2 yet, LOL. My only sugestion for this site is the layout, i think it need some more thinking thou, and more graphics.

just this past friday i got hit by a 1990 caddilac, i have a 91 mkII and i'll tell you the car can take a hit. An old man came out of a car wash, started to slide because of all the armor all on his tires and came across 4 lanes of traffic and head on towards me. I was able to cut the wheel to the right and avoided a head on collision but his bumper got my door and quorter pannel. Both the driver's window and side window blew out and the driver's side is trashed but best of all after we got hit, the impact threw the car sideways and we must have been skidding for about 60 feet and it spun but it was very easy to control the car and none of us got hurt. The bad part is that the car is totaled. I hate to see this car go, i use it to go to work in everyday. If anyone that reads this knows of a turbo mr2 for sale please let me know.

Just bought a 91 MR2 that had been sitting in probate for the last 2 years, 123,000 miles but iincredibly imaculate. Engine needs a ton of work but 3,000 dollars later it will be bran spankin new. Need the manuals for it though. See Ya, Bake, P-3 Flight Engineer and MR2 entheusiast.

I own a 1987 MR2MK1.It is blue with blue interior.The body is not the origional color,but a shade lighter.I purchased it four years ago from my mechanic,it was his wife's car.I use it nearly every day as a commuter car.It is very quick and enjoyable to drive especially in the warm weather with the tops off.I also own a 1999 honda civic si.Worst problem,fifth gear pop-out.

I have a 91 MR2 NA that just hit 80K miles. I LOVE my car. Recently, however, I have been noticing a rather high pithced squeal that is present the entire time the car is in motion or idle. It becomes higher in pitch the higher the speed and acceleration. I thought at first it may have been the fan belt or something comparable, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be? Obviously, since it is a rather new problem, I should be worried about it, right? (I haven't noticed any drop in performance or anything else wrong with it.)

It goes like stink.
However I've recently experienced a sticking wastegate.
Is this a common problem?.
I would imagine most lubricants couldn't stand the heat.
Any suggestions?

I make the streets of Belgium look nicer with my yellow MR2 MKII. My car has the flashy fogglights, is 6cm lowered by Koni resting on 17''Borbets, has a roaring K&N filter in combiantion with a Remus exhaust. Further the whole interior is half leather half yellow painted and a yellow stear, dashboard incl.To keep the car neat I placed a metal floorpat. Now a bigger spoiler and the MR can call itselfs a nice Baby Ferrari..

Man, Someone rear ended me in the McDonald's paking lot just last Wendsday. I had blinker fluid all over my big mac. My flubal pins were shot, and you don't even want to know what happened to my exaust barings. They even scratched my Will Smith CD. Great site! I have a blue 87 ,with factory sunroof that sat, because of financial reasons for 2 years. She's in the shop getting a mechanical rehaul. Luckily she only has 115,000 original miles, and runs like a bear!
This site will be very helpful because I know once I drive her again I'll be addicted, this time for life, and the parts info will be great!

I have a 88 MR2 na and will be putting a pair of subwoofers alongside two 6x9's (mb quartz)behind the my seats. I always wanted solid bass in my car but couldn't find anything that would fit (im 6 foot and i need all the legroom I can get). Found 6 1/2 inch subs by accident at Best Buy and im almost done making the speaker boxes for them( speaker box it came with was way to big). Subs will be powered by a 2 channel mtx amp and the the 6x9's & 4 inch Mb quartz are powered by my clarion cd player( I dont want to blow my ears to oblivion so I kept it simple, remember this is a small car so its already loud as it is)Hope this is useful to anyone (also Kicker makes 6 1/2subs too)out there.

I own a 1989 Toyota MR2 TURBO it is the late shape and is a Japanese import and has been professionally computer modyfied in Japan and has done 113,000km and is pearl white with 17" momo arrow wheels and a custom bodykit with 1995 update lights and has an awesome Pioneer sound system i will sacrifice at around $9500 E-MAIL ME must sell before 31 December 2000
