Wed Mar 1 12:07:09 2000 Dave & Fran McCollum (gnat.newellco.com) I've been an MR2 lover ever since I laid eyes on one and have been the proud owner of an '88 MR2 and currently own a '91. (and I grew up in a 'Corvette family')
Wed Mar 1 13:30:01 2000 Anna Cole (cache2.binc.net) I just checked out the yr 2000 MR 2 it's so beautiful!!! It makes my 1985 look like dirt compared to the 2000 model that will be out at the end of spring!!! What a cool site!!!
Wed Mar 1 14:12:56 2000 Rob Wiehl (spider-th022.proxy.aol.com) Great and informative site! Keep up the good work!
Wed Mar 1 15:50:20 2000 Robert Edmands (ip209-183-120-191.ts.indy.net) Hey all- I have a 1991 Turbo- Red (You Guessed it). I got it as a hand-me-down sort of from my Dad. He sold it to me for $3000. Killer Machine! It now has about 80,000 on it. Here in Indianapolis we had a really bad morning a few weeks ago- and in the process of trying to get to work- I slid up against the curb and dinged the Passenger door where the curb hit it. The MR2 is in the Body Shop and while yer at it- could you give the whole thing a paint job too? (labor of love!) I will detail the few breakdowns I have had with this car in the hope that others will learn something or tell me if this is typical or bizarre. On a road trip down to KY one of the pipes carrying water from the radiator to the engine ruptured and all the coolant poured out!- The Engine Temp spiked and I had to shut it down or destroy her! Not a breakdown- I had the Timing Belt replaced-but one Toyota dealer was totally baffled- Huh? We might have to take the engine out of the vehicle.- The second dealer could do it without going that far. Lastly-The Shift Cable broke as I was heading down a suburban country lane. You can go as ! far as you want! The catch is you can only go in 1st gear- and No Reverse!! Tommorow it is out of the shop and I am BACK IN BLACK! (Had the car for 4 years)
Wed Mar 1 17:30:33 2000 Philip D. Pinter (spider-we062.proxy.aol.com) I enjoyed the site. I love my MR2. It is a white 93 MR2. My lovely wife loves it as well. Most of all, it has enough room in the trunk for my golf clubs. Can't get no better.
Wed Mar 1 18:27:14 2000 Max Rochester (spider-wd071.proxy.aol.com)
Wed Mar 1 20:02:57 2000 chris brooks (ppp226.BB.ite.net) about 5 months ago i acquired a 91 mr-2 turbo for 4900 bucks. needed some refining and so such but all in all it was in sound condition. i happened to slide off the road in guam before i left on cruise for 3 weeks. when i heard that toyota was or is releasing the mr-2 spyder in the states i was ecstatic, with couple of thoughts... are they releasing the orginal form? if so, will the body style remain the same or is it just like the spyder? i hope toyota didnt change what wasnt broke. its so hard to find info about new versions of the mr-2 other than the spyder. if they are still producing the mr-2 mkII (non-spyder, im a t-top lover), would anyone that knows where i can buy one, ie europe canada etc etc pls let me know. anyplace but japan and uk... id like to keep the wheel on the proper side. thanks everyone chris

Thu Mar 2 07:37:16 2000 john h. (spider-ti074.proxy.aol.com) I own an 86 model
Thu Mar 2 11:37:03 2000 Joseph Kullman (ts004d13.den-co.concentric.net) I am currently looking into purchasing an MR2 (most likely an '87, based on what I have read) and have found the information on this website to be both useful and encouraging. After reading just about everything on this site , I decided to test drive an '87 MR2 and was very impressed. This is the car for me (as soon as I get enough money saved to buy one and soup it up). Thank you for all the helpful information!
Thu Mar 2 15:18:50 2000 Jeremy (p16-max8.chc.ihug.co.nz) I am from New Zealand (yahh) I have a 1985 N/A MR2.. My icq #26867181 if ya wanna talk MR2's.. my page is http://www.gr81.8m.com
Fri Mar 3 10:33:21 2000 anne griffin (as3-3.iaw.on.ca) I know he's waiting. Waiting in the garage. I go out every weekend to look at him and to start him up. He never fails to start and he seems to be eager for a run, but alas it is not possible....yet. We must wait, I tell him. We wait to be sure that the snow season is over. Oh, he knows he can run well in snow but I tell him how I worry about the others out there, about those huge reckless cars and trucks whacking into him, hurting him. Come one day soon I'll bring him out into the sunshine and lovingly wash and rub his body clean of all the vestiges of Winter. Then....we'll ride. He'll spring to life and he'll make my world whole once again. Soon I will experience the thrill of getting it "just right" on the preformance shift. Oh, but I'm a slave to the emotion, the thrill, the envy of others as they watch me fly by, ever so smooth. My '89 MR2 S/C will now give to me my 12th summer of incredible adventures. I am blessed.
Fri Mar 3 11:36:21 2000 NIck (ccsd-5-5.ccsd.k12.co.us) This site is awsome. I can relate my MR2 to others and get more info on it. thank
Fri Mar 3 18:26:35 2000 brandon sisino (pm3will3-26.uplink.net) i am a soon to be mr2 owner, i can't wait, i love mr2 s,
Sun Mar 5 02:22:33 2000 Ian Spandau (fester.esatclear.ie) Love the site, v useful, I've owned a blue '94 G Limited (Tokyo import) for 3 years now and have more fun throwing it around Irish roads then I did in my previous car, a 305 bhp cosworth sierra. The car handles better with 2 people in it, and for my money, the single most important thing to consider with MR2s is the tyres. I use Bridgestone F1's, having tried Pirellis and Dunlops, Bridgestone knock the crap out of the competition. Keep up the good work
Sun Mar 5 02:56:45 2000 Koz Sasaki (taku.mywm.co.jp) I am Japanese and have a red 1997 MR2 (turbo).(apparantly it was not sold in US but it was in Japan) It is still in v good condition and goes really FAST as all of you know. I dont have a garage so it's kept outside but I use an order-made gore-tex cover (which cost me awfull 800 US$) for it and I never drive it when the weather is wet (I got a shower some 15 times or so in the past nearly 3 years, though) so it is still beautiful looking too. I love it and I love this helpful site.
Sun Mar 5 16:37:53 2000 Joe R. Amaya (max116.ies.net) Own a 88 MR2 NA that handles great but needs more power! Contemplating a step up to a 91/95 MR2 turbo. Saw the new MR2 Spyder in a few mags ,looks great but a little too pricey. Anyway its great to see the MR2 back in the states.
Sun Mar 5 16:58:25 2000 boris chen (206.128.192.141) I´m from panama, i very proud of my super white MR2 normally aspireted 1986 recently i raced againt honda civic with supercharger from jackson racing 210hp, i won that competition, i just have some modification like wiseco piston, hks cams, trd clucht etc.
Sun Mar 5 17:29:13 2000 tony g (spider-wa022.proxy.aol.com)
Mon Mar 6 06:38:04 2000 Larry Burman (atsmac.nrl.navy.mil) Just browsing. I have a 1987 MR2 with everything except the tow hitch and automatic transmission. It just hit 120,000 this weekend. My only "real" problem is that the rear trunk release cable never stayed attached. I'm referring a friend to you site. He has been using my shop manual to troubleshoot a automatic trans. shifting problem related to cold weather.
Mon Mar 6 12:19:05 2000 Dave Gruehn (maxtnt10-abe-79.fast.net) You've materialized a thoroughly informative website; good job. I just wanted to add to the MR2 apprecitation list. I own a dark teal '91 MR2 turbo, and just love the dickens out of it. I have a garaged 92 Porsche 911 Carrera, but it's going to stay there awhile, as I never tire of my MR2's road-eating performance. As anyone who owns one knows, the car does a better job cornering at high speeds than most cars (expensive ones included)Someone mentionded about its poor snow handling ability. I sometimes place a few bags of sand in the trunk to weigh down the rear (brilliant, huh?) Well, it gets me out of the driveway, anyhow. I'll be selling the car in a year or two. (Carpooling demands I do this, or get rid of the 911).
Tue Mar 7 06:45:00 2000 Jill Willhoit (12.20.146.126) I would like to join the 100,000 mile club
Tue Mar 7 07:45:58 2000 Jeffrey Daniel (proxy01.jnj.com) I have a 1986 Toyota MR2, black, automatic, wiht leather seats. Unfortunately someone hit my car and the left quarter panel, right front bumper, and front bumper has been damaged. I am the original owner and am interested in putting my car back in top shape. I'll need some parts. What the best way to query for parts and black leather seats to replace my worn an ripped ones.
Wed Mar 8 03:49:21 2000 ashim (inet.lucas.co.uk) Brought an MR2 two years ago. Best ever car I've ever driven. Originally imported it from Japan. Its a special G-Limited edition. This Mr2 website has helped me with rewiring of headlight clusters and foglamps etc to convert to UK specification.
Wed Mar 8 09:02:33 2000 Tristan Smith (207.103.85.62) I'm in absolute love with my 1992 MKII turbo. It's fast, draws looks, and it is a blast to drive. I'm sure all of you feel the same way. You kind of build an ego the more you drive it. I'm currently in the process of body kit, rims, and exaust, I have already modified the engine pretty good. Thank you for this site it has helped me a lot already!
Wed Mar 8 12:10:54 2000 David (proxy.recogsys.com) Hi i have a 91 Mister II N/A and i would like to kno how i can get my hands on a TRD 2.2 Dual Intake Turbo engine... if anyone can possibly help me... please E-mail me at GSRcivic7@hotmail.com... thank you very much...

Wed Mar 15 08:00:32 2000 Stuart James Mckee (212.219.2.1) Just thought I'd say hi to all the MR-2 owners and followers, cause I'm at college at the moment signing the guest book when I guess I should be doing college work. I'm training in Electrical engineering so I don't quite earn enough dosh for an MR-2 (not to mention the annual insurance premiums!), but my best mate has a mk 2, H reg, metallic blue, 2.0 ltr, 16 valve. Just down the road from me, in one of the local garages, there's a absolutely gorgeous white, N reg, T-bar MR-2 for £11,995, with my name on it (Obviously only if I recieve my extra £20,000 per year!). Anyway, I'd best get going otherwise I won't finish my project, won't get qualified and as a result, won't be able to afford my MR-2!!!
Wed Mar 15 10:29:20 2000 John W Williams (asn14-49.mcmail.com) I have just bought an MR2 G limited 1992 manufacture and imported into the UK from Japan, it is therefore a right hand drive. Does anybody know where I can obtain an owners manual ?

Fri Mar 17 15:43:51 2000 Terry Ciechomski (mid-tgn-nge-vty27.as.wcom.net) I ran across this website while viewing Toyota' promo on the new MR2. A lot of good info, but I wish there was still a national club. I own an '87 T-top. It was my first brand new car that I bought with my own money. Hopefully, I'll have it forever. I like it that much! Let those other "forty somethings" drive their Harleys, I'd rather drive my MR2. It is good to see that I am not alone in my enthusiasm for this car.

Fri Mar 17 16:51:32 2000 John Schugmann (l37.emcst.com) Hi! I've had my 91 MR2 turbo since late 1990. It's getting on in years, but is still a good looking car. I'm thinking of getting some modifications and I was wondering what kind of kits were available...even though i'd hate to get rid of my original(well half of it is org.) "Steel Grey Mist" paintjob. Plus I'm thining of getting a larger wheel/tire combo, and I was wondering if anyone had done this to good effect? Anyway, Take it easy!

Sat Mar 18 08:26:30 2000 Jason Kearns (h-207-148-136-183.dial.cadvision.com) Great site. At the moment I'm looking for a sporty, but economical, compact. I've owned a 2nd Gen RX-7 and 2nd Gen MX-6 in the past and enjoyed both cars although my daily driver is a truck these days. Started having sports car cravings a few months ago and someone recommended I look into the MKI. Much to my surprise I fit quite well (I'm 6ft, 210lbs) so now I'm searching for more information on the MKI before I take the plunge and buy one. Of particular interest are examples of modified MKI's (naturally aspirated) that people are autocrossing. This site has provided a tremendous amount of valuable info. so far. Thanks. jr.

Fri Mar 24 08:37:18 2000 Ed Nicholson (RLGHB109-07.splitrock.net) I'm the lucky owner of an MR2 (bought new), made June, 1989. It has 82,000 miles on it and is driven daily by me. All it needs is a new paint job (never garaged), which it will be getting soon. Incidentally, I'm a retired teacher, age 70+. My wife also likes it; she says it's not extremely fast but it's quick. Sat Mar 25 06:37:54 2000 Koz Sasaki (taku.mywm.co.jp) I am a Japanese and an owner of a '97 SW20 turbo. I really love it. Could anybody give me information about driving right-wheeled car in the US. Does it need a special authorization of any kind at all? Are insurance premiums higher than those for left-wheeled ones?

Mon Mar 27 14:07:54 200 chris (webcache11x.cache.pol.co.uk) I have a 1988 mr2 T-bar which I bought recently. Many people told me I should of bought a MkII but I prefer the mkI. The only problem with the car is a little rust appearing on the real wheelarch (I common fault Iam told!). If anybody knows of any mechanical glitches that can happen please e-mail me as Iam not that mechanical minded. I think the mr2 is a superb car and Iam sure it will soon reach classic status.I would like to hear from anyone who can give me help & advice and maybe info on future mr2 events across the world. Thanks for reading & keep the mr2 spirit alive!!! chris

Tue Mar 28 05:59:01 200 Filip (spider-wo073.proxy.aol.com) Awesome site. I don't own an MR2 but my friend let me test drive his '91 Yellow Turbo with manual trans. This car is fassssssst. Too bad it was to fast for mr. police officer when he pulled me over, hehe. But I liked the car better than the '91 Talon Tsi and I plan to purchase a '93-'95 MR2. If any one can give me some info on anything that could seriously go wrong with these model year MR2's then let me know...

Thu Mar 30 19:59:42 200 Joey (host-216-78-104-105.asm.bellsouth.net) MR2.com Rocks! Just bought an 85, my first MR2. The first owner took really good care of it, a Toyota mechanic who rebuilt it with solid Toyota Racing parts. Just wanted to thank him, and all other owners out there like him who know how to take care of an awesome car.
