Sun Mar 1 09:10:27 1998 ROY TONNESSEN (185.new-york-26.ny.dial-access.att.net) I PURCHASED MY MR2 @ HOLLYWOOD TOYOTA IN AUGUST 1986. I HAVE 150,000 MILES AND IT STILL RUNS TO PURRRFECTION !!. I AM SURE I WILL GET @ LEAST 100,000 MILES MORE WITH THE MR2.
Sun Mar 1 23:57:12 1998 Richard Bardin (dial-011.granis.net) I enjoyed your page. Own a silver '86 NA.
Mon Mar 2 03:41:26 1998 Charles Maloney (ww-ti01.proxy.aol.com) After a lot of research I decided on the venerable MR-2 and I found a mint '91 turbo, T-tops and loaded with 9k miles from the original owner purchased for $14K. The deal included a lockable canvas cover, chains, the "club", the complete Toyota factory manuals, an extended warranty, AND the guy even through in his favorite samba tape! What a great deal for great car. Still, I would love to locate reviews about the '91 T from Car & Driver and Road & Track etc. If anyone has these texts in their files please e-mail them to me, or where could I find this info? Thanks.....Charles in San Fran.
Mon Mar 2 05:20:00 1998 Neil (sfo-ca10-26.ix.netcom.com) I really love MR2, I still. I'mso crazy. Especially when you put 17 inches rims and lower it to the floor.
Mon Mar 2 11:46:16 1998 Ian Gopez (rm118-83.lib.fsu.edu) I am looking for an 88-89 SC. in great cond, under 150K miles and I am looking to trade my awesome 86 NA + add cash. My 86 has 98 K miles and is in immaculate cond. w/mild mods. Any takers?
Mon Mar 2 13:11:11 1998 James M Darrah (azizia.dtm-corp.com) I just bought an 86 project car. I have been pleased with the information and links provided by þthis web page.
Mon Mar 2 19:20:23 1998 Lauryn Vaughn (wall.wyattsd.com) I don't own one of these beauties yet, but I've wanted one since I graduated High School in 89, I do plan on getting one soon. I love these cars!! and the 89 Supercharged I feel was the best body style ever made.

Mon Mar 2 20:02:17 1998 allan sol cruz (1Cust110.max2.dallas.tx.ms.uu.net) i've had my mr2 for about 3 months now,it had about 100,000 miles on it, when i bought it. its a manual transmission , and thats they way it should be! the only thing i had to maintain or fix was to replace the brake pads. and replaced the stock air filter with a K&N air filter. a thorough oil and lube change was next on its schedule.i drive it to and from work every day!20 mile commute , all freeway!! thats what this car is all about. only complaint is 5th gear wants to pop . oh well, and 1rst gear is a little weak. might have to overhaul the trans. but other than that the car is a dream to drive!
Tue Mar 3 01:34:02 1998 Steven (58.san-francisco-01.ca.dial-access.att.net) I really enjoy IMOC web site.I'm 19 yr. old an I,ve been working on cars since I was 14 years old.I got my first Mr2 when I was 16,I,ve owned 4 since then my first one was an 85 then I got a 91 (5S-FE) an then follwed a 91 (3S-GTE) an now I have a 93 (3S-GTE).It is Black with leather interior,tape-cd player, two 12's in a box behind the seats,t-tops,5spd,17in. wheels, upgraded brakes,an too many eng-tran. modifcations to list,an a body kit, plus much more.Ihave the up most respect for Mr2's.I've driven many cars an I have to say that I will never buy anything but an Mr2 because there the best cars end the world an all the disbelivers out there go out an test drive one.An for those who say that Mr2's are slow, hope you don't see me at a stop light you'll be seeing my taillights all by the way I have about 450 horsepower under the hood.Don't get me wrong I'm a nice person I'm just tired of people making fun of Mr2's because they have little 4 cylinders in them.I have the upmost res! pect for all the people out there who own an love there little Mr2's
Tue Mar 3 13:53:45 1998 David Rothrock (p1-202.senate.gov) If you are viewing the guest book and you have not heard about the WASHINGTON DC DRIVE.....here is how to get there. Go to the Mid-Atlantic MR2 IMOC Homepage. Once there, click DC DRIVE. The details are there, except the numbers have increased by about 25. Hope to hear from you. Try to come!!! E-mail me if you have any questions. DRothrock1@aol.com. Hope to hear from you. Keep Driving Dave Rothrock. 93 Super Red
Tue Mar 3 17:16:09 1998 Shedrick Flowers (jst205ws205.st.usm.edu) I own a normally aspirated 1991 MR2. I would like to see some information about how to get some real horsepower gains. Is it possible to get 200 horsepower out of the 2.2 liter four? If there is please let me know.
Wed Mar 4 14:45:40 1998 Jennifer Kimber (ip135.portland3.or.pub-ip.psi.net) I've had my 91 MR2 for two weeks and I am in love!!!!!!!!!!
Thu Mar 5 00:46:54 1998 Bill Effner (ww-te05.proxy.aol.com) I have a 91 non turbo model that I've had since since 94 it has been an exceptional car.
Thu Mar 5 01:35:32 1998 Booj Sianghio (208.142.162.171) Interesting site. It's international! Lots of great stuff for MR2 Fanatics. I don't have a MR2 (yet). Waiting for graduation to start earning money to get a Mk. I The Mk. II does look like a 348 GTB especially in yellow. At present, NO MR2's ARE OFFERED IN THE PHILIPPINES. Every single one on the road here was imported from the ground up. Not to mention the 100% import duty that I must pay. So, I'd like to buy a Mk. II but I can only afford a Mk. I. Keep up the good work guys!!! : )
Thu Mar 5 18:07:10 1998 Nick Kilroy (loue.cc.swin.edu.au) Love MR2's. Always have. I own a '96 180hp normally aspirated, gleaming red MR and wouldn't trade it for any other car. I also have a Jeep Cherokee so I don't have to trash my MR by carrying stuff in it and cause I do a lot of off-road driving - something my MR2 cant really acomplish, not that I really car when I can out corner a RX7 or subaru WRX!!
Thu Mar 5 22:04:43 1998 Steve Cochran (152.163.204.100) I own a 1992 MR2 MkII This is a Very cool site and has been very informitive.
Thu Mar 5 23:31:27 1998 James Tutor (usr19-dialup22.mix1.Sacramento.mci.net) I don't have a mr2 yet but when i get one i'm getting a '95 twin turbo. I'm going to paint it black with a red pearl coat on top. And then put a Stillen stage 7 upgrade on it with hks intake, blow off valve and a wastegate. I will then put a erebuni aero kit on it and a supra style wing on it.then put greddy exaust on it with 4'' polished tips. I will put the widest 18'' weels I can fit on my mid engine runabout two seeter I will then put in a turbo timer and some gauges. For the seats I will put in momo bucket seats. Then a six speed transmission with a short throw shifter and a momo shift knob. I will put in 10'' JBL audio subwoofers off of a 400 watt pioneer amplifier. If you have any suggestions e-mail me.
Fri Mar 6 09:24:52 1998 Alan Baldwin (209.74.184.103) I don't have an MR2 yet, but I've decided it's what I'm going to get once I graduate and have $$$. I can get a practical car with four seats when I settle down and have kids

I LOVE DOING MY OWN MAINTENANCE ON IT BUT HAVE TROUBLE WITH THE CONFINED SPACE. I AM LOOKING FOR SOME BLACK FLOOR MATS WITH THE MR2 LOGO ON IT BUT HAVE HAD LITTLE SUCCESS. ANY SUGESTIONS WOULD BE HELPFULL.
Sat Mar 7 01:23:28 1998 John Oostmeyer (ts0-bm-18.netmonger.net) I have finally found it. The perfect website about my car. Is there going to be a screensaver for Mac? I love my 91 MR2. People stair it all the time. It is not just another mustang. Amd the punch from that turbo is not rivaled by many, long live the MR2!!!!
Sat Mar 7 03:19:33 1998 Pat Swanson (s18pm2.net135.or.jp) Does anybody know how difficult it would be to import a 1997 MR2 Turbo into the US. I know they haven`t been available there since 1995. I live in Japan now and its hard to find that kind of thing out. Any info on importing into the states would be welcome. Thanks
Sat Mar 7 20:46:16 1998 Robert Gibbs (152.163.204.105) I have recently purchased a 1987 MR-2. The ignitor is gone on it and I'm haveing trouble finding one. If anybody could assist me please email me at hisc@nbnet.nb.ca or grxmj@stthomasu.ca. It would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Sat Mar 7 22:50:48 1998 PAT WOOSLEY (ww-td06.proxy.aol.com) California Court of Appeal upholds Superior Court ruling that DMV must give broad notice so that DMV can reconstruct records of people filing claims for refund for part of the billion dollars that DMV has overcharged motorists. The California Supreme Court had previously ruled that DMV is overcharging owners of vehicles originally sold, or previously registered, outside of California and must make refunds to people who make timely requests for refund. DMV was not keeping records of people who filed refunds during much of the 20 years of this litigation, and needs to give broad notice to reconstruct its records of claims. However, the court ruled that the DMV does not have to mention that many people can still file timely claims and become eligible for a refund. Please tell your friends. There is more information at http://www.cashop.com/DMV-refunds. Many owners of out-of-state vehicles do not even know it because a previous owner brought the vehicle to California. Links appreciated.
Sun Mar 8 00:37:37 1998 Erne Ballinger (sfdn14-146.sf.compuserve.com) Enjoying your page. Bought my 91 turbo a year ago last October. Just found your site. Fantastic car! I have had some fun cars, and still do, but this is the best. Bored? Just get on a tight road and press with your right foot. Instant alive! I don't get enough time behind the wheel and have little time to wrench, but am looking for a shop that can do a reasonable street warm-up in the Santa Rosa area of Northern Cal. Any suggestions? Keep up the good work.
Sun Mar 8 11:09:32 1998 Tony Foderaro (ppp-159.m2-2.ham.ican.net) I have just recently created a web site that deals with automotive parts & accessories i would like to be linked to your site my url is: http://home.ican.net/~imports this site is excellent for information! Thank you
Sun Mar 8 19:09:47 1998 Michael Tedone (fwasc38-110.flash.net) Does anyone have prices on the aeroware side air intake body pannels for mkII's? (the ones which remove the middle bar.)
Mon Mar 9 03:40:46 1998 Keola (hawaii-21.u.aloha.net) i just bought an 87'mr2, i have 86,000 miles on it. i was wondering if that average good or bad?
Mon Mar 9 10:35:15 1998 M. Reynolds (champ1.champint.com) I just washed and waxed my crimson red '91T this weekend. Fell in love all over again with my MR2 (though I never really fell out of love with it) The Meguairs 3 step cleaner/polish/wax system really work great! The paint almost looks like new again. Anyone notice how many small chips and dings end up in the hood (not so much on the bumper)? I don't think that even a bra would stop this assault to my cars finish. Any suggestions?
Mon Mar 9 18:14:45 1998 Frankie Sarris (pm1-4.p-c-net.net) I would like to find out some information on aftermarket parts for my 1991 MR2 (Non-Turbo). For instance, suspension and engine upgrade.
Mon Mar 9 18:33:35 1998 Todd Klosnick (1Cust56.max18.cleveland.oh.ms.uu.net) Hello, this is such a great website. Keep up the good work. I'm looking for an 1989 MR2 rear spoiler the one with the led light. If anyone has this I will pay top dollar for one in dark blue but will consider any color. Must be 89 though.
Mon Mar 9 19:04:24 1998 Morten b. Petersen (ppp103.cph.businessnet.dk) I just this ... A hole site about the dream car of my life... I've just brought one .. but toyota can't deliver before august :( sad but true .. Have it nice Morten from denmark
Mon Mar 9 20:22:48 1998 Greg (LIBLABPC1.LIB.UTK.EDU) Anyone have a quick way to unfreeze a rear break caliper piston on a 91 mkII turbo???? Please E-mail me at GRBUD71@hotmail.com
Tue Mar 10 03:58:54 1998 mike (175-131-132.ipt.aol.com)
Tue Mar 10 14:14:50 1998 Terry (ncc-j4.it-ncc.louisville.edu) I'm 23, graduating from college in about a month, and am (was) in the market for a new car. I've owned a 1987 Toyota FX 16 in the past, and currently own an 85 MKI (flawless) as well as a 92 turbo (getting there). Both are great cars, but I want something new (I'm still keeping both MR2's). Nowhere in the current Toyota lineup do they offer a genuinely exhilirating car this side of a Supra Turbo. Gone are the affordable pocket rockets; one day, maybe I can afford a new Supra, but until then I have decided to deny myself of Toyota's quality and buy something else: an Acura. For $23,900 (plus the add-ons) I walked out of an Acura dealer with the keys to a 1998 Integra Type-R. Incredible car. It leaves you either speechless, or rambling like an idiot. Not as fast as my 92, and lacking the "classic-ness" of my 85, it still has found a spot in my heart. C'mon, Toyota. Turbocharge the Celica, bring on the MR-S, SOMETHING!!! Until then, I'm shifting at 9 grand. (Note: this comment in! no way was intended to disrespect Toyota or the quality of the vehicles they have produced in the past, only their current Camry-Avalon-Corolla-Camry-Camry-Tacoma lineup)
Tue Mar 10 22:39:15 1998 Mike (ww-tj01.proxy.aol.com) hey great site why not goto my site when ya get a chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - its at http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Garage/1579/
Wed Mar 11 07:17:12 1998 Chuck Coleman (1Cust93.tnt14.det3.da.uu.net) I have a 92 NA. I have a real hell of a time when the weather is cold/ Shifitng this beast becomes almost impossible. I drained and flushed the transmission and refilled with a synthetic, but when it gets below 20 deg F, Iit's tough getting into 1st and rev; and difficult going through all the gears. Once the car is warmed up - no problem. Clutch replaced less than ayear ago. Ideas?
Wed Mar 11 07:46:44 1998 Edd (209-142-2-94.stk.inreach.net) Anyone know a place where you can get TRD suspension buchings and a TRD engine mount?
Wed Mar 11 14:10:22 1998 Terry (ncc-j3.it-ncc.louisville.edu) For the guy asking about the frozen parking brake, the same thing happened to me. The handbrake cable was frozen. For a quick fix you can remove the pins from your emergency brake back near (or on) the rear caliper. I don't know exactly where, but when mine froze, a guy from work did just this, and it only took him 5 min. He handed me the pins, and the next day I took the car to my mechanic who diagnosed and fixed the problem. Oh yeah, I just reread my comment about Toyota's current lineup; I didn't mean to seem that negative. My 92 Turbo, with only TRD springs, Tockico adj. shocks, and Trust exhaust I can spank the hell out of the Integra, drag racing or overall road racing. The brakes I hear everyone raving about in the Type-R are good, but my Mr-2 stops from 60 mph in 115 feet- completely stock braking system (as measured by my G-tech computer). I love my Mr-2, more so than the Type-R. I'm just dissappointed I had to buy something else besides a Toyota.
Wed Mar 11 15:25:22 1998 Alex (207.102.21.253) Hey Terry, you could have waited for the Celica GT-4 instead of buying the type R. Celica GT4 is the new generation all wheel drive turbo charged Celica like the previous generations, still uses the MR-2 engine but has increased boost that will probably be around 250 hp in North America. I don't quite understand how a Type R can leave you speechless when an MR2 walks all over it, but to each his own.
Wed Mar 11 18:09:44 1998 Nancy Edwards (59.st-louis-34.mo.dial-access.att.net) Love my 87 MR2.
Wed Mar 11 19:55:53 1998 mark (ww-ta06.proxy.aol.com) I own a 1986 toyota MR2 and i'm trying to find performance parts for my car. I think that MR2's are fast and i love driving mine. If you have any information about my inquiring please e-mail me. Thanks, Mark Ladringan
Thu Mar 12 18:01:44 1998 reem (207-172-236-58.s58.as1.xmv.erols.com) i have a 87 mr2 and i love it. i'll keep this car even if i buy another car. i'm actually waiting and hoping the MRS will come to america. that's the next car i would like to have.....
Thu Mar 12 19:35:30 1998 Brett Beasley (54.charlotte-06.nc.dial-access.att.net) I have a white 1987 Toyota MR-2. I like to drive it a lot.
Thu Mar 12 22:36:45 1998 Frank Coffenberry (spider-to15.proxy.aol.com)
Thu Mar 12 22:46:29 1998 Jim Loseke (ww-tr03.proxy.aol.com) I love my MR2. It is a NA '91 with all the goodies other than the leather seating. It is a summer car only. Has about 65,000 miles on it. Plan on keeping it forever. Nice web site, well done.
Fri Mar 13 11:15:21 1998 Rudolf Mühlenbein (194.162.71.100) I have my red '92 MR2 since Dec. '96 here in old germany. At my travels '97 and '98 to San Francisco, I saw a lot of nice MR2s every day.
Fri Mar 13 12:08:56 1998 Terry (ncc-i2.it-ncc.louisville.edu) Alex, I had never heard of the Celica GT-4 (apparently using the 3SGTE engine) I'll keep an eye out for it. When I said I "walked out of the showroom with the keys to a '98 Type-R" I meant I signed the papers to buy it, and went home to wait on the financing to go through. I found out this morning they want me to put down $6,000 (on top of the $4,500 I already gave them) I have excellent credit, and make good money, so I don't see what the problem is. It looks like, at this point, I won't be getting that Type-R. $1,000 of that down payment is supposed to be non-refundable -but if I don't qualify (because of whatever backwards financial logic) I'll be getting that money back...or getting the the car. As far as why a car slower than my daily driver would leave me speechless -you just have to drive one. Trust me. By the way, is there a tentative release date for the Celica, MSRP, etc?
Fri Mar 13 18:25:48 1998 Tue Nguyen (tnt-01-01.kcdata.com) aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you know the feeling of when you know your best friend needs a new heart and there are no donors or has some terminal disease. Makes you feel sad knowing thier's nothing you can do, doesn't it? Well my MR2 is sick (cracked block)...I'm gonna miss my lil baby... good bye mr2
Sat Mar 14 09:40:14 1998 chris (usr105-wol.cableinet.co.uk) great site I own a 1985 mr2 mk1, just looking for a club in uk to help with spairs and info etc.
Sat Mar 14 09:48:33 1998 Howard Jungkind (ww-ta03.proxy.aol.com) I have owned my 1987 MR2 for two years and I am looking at adding a sport exhaust system and an intake system. It is not a supercharged engine but I wonder if anyone has ever converted. I would like to find out if this could be done and how involved it is.
Sat Mar 14 11:55:38 1998 Rob Hobbs (ww-tl01.proxy.aol.com) I own a Super Red '89 SC, factory stock with 101K on it. I'm not sure what options were included as standard equip. on SC's, but mine has alloy wheels, leather, t-bar roof, power door locks & mirrors &hi-line cassette stereo. I've had NO problems except for an emergency brake replacement @ 75K. In fact the brakes, exhaust system & plugs are original! Hard to believe the factory- stated 145HP, because I give 5.0 Mustangs a real run for their money. Enjoy your site- keep up the good work!
Sat Mar 14 14:06:04 1998 Arshad (man-041.dialup.zetnet.co.uk)
Sun Mar 15 00:31:51 1998 Melissa (ww-tk06.proxy.aol.com) In case anyone in the Texas area hasn't heard yet, there is going to be an MR-2 rally in Austin on March 22nd at 12:00pm starting in the Palmer Auditorium parking lot. For more information click on the Texas Region IMOC link or go to http://www.eden.com/~roneill/texasmr2/. See you there!!!
Sun Mar 15 14:59:54 1998 Mark Sim (ww-wa01.proxy.aol.com) I bought my 91 MR2 from the first owner in 95. It had only 38kMi. The guy installed an (aftermarket?) leather interior that is kind of rare in non turbo. Anyway, it looks good. The only mechanical problem I have had is the replacement of the rear calibers and disc. Sounds good for a seven year car with 78kmi. I love the car.
Sun Mar 15 19:23:32 1998 Larry Overcash (1Cust44.max13.raleigh.nc.ms.uu.net) Just bought a used 1993 turbo. As an old tr-6 owner I'm looking forward to getting back into the saddle.
Sun Mar 15 22:45:27 1998 Rob (pm2-69.richmond.infi.net) Outstanding Site!! I just replaced my '88 MKISC with a bone stock '92 MKIIT, 48,000 miles. Love the car, but I'm having an anoying drivability problem that seems to baffle my local Toyota dealership. In a nutshell, the car surges noticeably when accelerating at half to full throttle. It doesn't do this all the time, but enough to really bug me. What's worse, there is occasionally a fairly violent "buck" when I back out of the throttle, say above 3,000 RPM. The buck hits no matter how smooth I am with the throttle. The car seems a bit slower than other MKIIT's I've driven, though that could just be rose colored glasses fogging my memory of the other cars. The O2 sensor seems to test fine, but I have zero voltage (should be 2.5) at the VF1 port on the diognosic plug. I've heard everything from vacuum leak at the EGR valve (just replaced it, no better) to faulty O2 (even though it tests fine and no code) to bad computer (after paying the dealership $130 for 2 hours of diagnostic time) to "they just do that". PLEASE HELP!!! This will be the perfect car for me if I can get this #@*!@# surge problem solved. If not, I'm frustrated enough to cut my losses and sell. Thanks in advance. Sorry about the looong post.

Mon Mar 16 23:02:09 1998 Anthony Brown (pm-gb1-19.coastalnet.com) Had my MR 2 since '92. Love it and would trade it for nuttin. What's funny about my Mr. 2? I'm in the military. I got assigned to Japan. And I couldn't take my Mr. 2 with me! As a result...36,000 miles (Mar 98)
Tue Mar 17 08:44:42 1998 quy dang (dresden.bmc.com) I love the MR2. Would very much like to know if a new model is coming out soon.
Tue Mar 17 10:43:55 1998 Kim Damron (165.79.19.25) I just bought a 91 turbo with t-top, and I love it! I had an Integra before this, and I thought that was the best car on the road... until now! Great site; I'll visit often.
Tue Mar 17 13:01:12 1998 Shawn (usem.com) My '93 N/A MR2 died last night coming home in the rain. It shuttered (like no spark) a couple of times and then proceeded to loose power completely. I turned it off and it never would restart (but cranks over just fine). Has anybody ever had this problem... what might I need to be looking for. The dealer can't get to me till next week! Thanks for your help --Shawn

Thu Mar 19 19:08:43 1998 Reese (tor11-7.yesic.com) Can anyone help?My 91 turbo has a puzzling problem I can't seem to solve.Last spring the EVC preset boost levels were set at 9.5 psi and 12 psi and suddenly dropped to 3 psi and 5 psi approximately. The car's factory turbocharger was removed and was in need of a rebuild (192,000 kms on vehicle).Over the winter Turbonetics machiened and rebuilt the turbo with larger compressor and turbine internals as well as a new actuator. The intake and exaust manifold were blueprinted to compliment a new, larger throttle body. The factory ECU was re-mapped so the FCD was no longer nessassary to increase boost. With all new parts installed the boost problem persisted.I have tried to remidy this problem by replacing all vacume lines to no avail. The EVC was replaced with a manual boost controller with no improvements (3-5 psi). The boost does not spike so I don't think the blow-off valve could be the problem.I believe the wastegate is not closing, but why?If anyone has suffered the same mechanical pr! oblem or has any possible solutions your advice would be greatly appreciated.Dispite this headache,I still believe the MR2 turbo is dollar for dollar, one of the best cars ever produced.Drive safe and enjoy your MR2s.

I bought a '87 MR2 about 6 months ago to have a 2nd car while my supercharged car was getting worked on. I plan on making this 3rd MR2 the fastest one I have ever owned. I bought a '93 Rx7 about 3 years ago but have been dissappointed with the overall relability. I plan on obtaining over 250 hp with my next supercharged MR2.
Mon Mar 23 09:26:01 1998 Linda Thom (ld08-196.lon.compuserve.com) I'm hearbroken! I find your site daysafter my beloved MR2 has been written off. It only had 20K on the clock, one careful lady owner from new and I've cherished it for 8 years. I don't think I'll ever like another car so much again. Sorry for being depressing.
Mon Mar 23 12:15:20 1998 Silo (www-proxy-fra-1.maz.net) HELP WANTED! Ref. '91 MK2 Turbo....does somebody know why the main-fan-relay (located in the front fuse box) of my '91 turbo broke 2 times in one week???!!! The effect is very dangerous because coolant temprature raises quickly under heavy load or city drive without the fans working! Please mail me if you have any idea on this or even had that problem too.
Mon Mar 23 14:39:46 1998 TERRY (ncc-h5.it-ncc.louisville.edu) To the guy with the surging/bucking (read:missing) problem, it's probably your ignition, and more specifically your plug wires. Try changing Distributor cap, rotor, plugs and wires. When I bought my 92 Turbo, on the test drive it would miss during any high load, low rpm conditions. I mistankingly diagnosed a turbo problem, but my mechanic drove it once and pointed to the wires. One day and $125 later, my car ran perfect.
Tue Mar 24 13:02:49 1998 STEVEN TANG (dhs-21.dhs.EDnet.NS.CA) I REALLY ENJOYED THIS PAGE BUT SHOULD INCLUDE MORE PICS AND LIST WHERE TO GET AFTER MARKET PARTS FOR THE CAR AND SHOW MR2 COSTOM CARS

Tue Mar 24 15:14:22 1998 MARC CUSTODIA (ww-tk04.proxy.aol.com) I first owned an '87 MR2, and I now drive a '91. These cars are bar-none the BEST pieces of automotive epuipment ever to see asphalt!! In a way, it's too bad that Toyota doesn't import MR2's to America anymore, but that just makes us current owners an exclusive group! Long live the mid-engine wonder, and I'm looking forward to seeing the new MR-S!!

After driving the MR2 Turbo, I fell in love with the tight handling. Now all I want is to uprgrade the performance. I am automotively challenged and I would appreciate any information on services to upgrade the performance of the car.

Fri Mar 27 10:57:36 1998 Anne Griffin (as2-12.iaw.on.ca) By yesterday afternoon, I was in a tizzy. It was the first warm, dry day since last October, when I store "Him" away. I ran to the garage and flung open the doors...there HE was....waiting for me. After a quick boost from my winter beater, he sprang to life, purring ever so sweetly. Gently,I backed him out into the sunshine and lovingly caressed his body clean. He shone and sparkled and his beauty took my breath away. I eased my body into HIM and we drove off, in sych, down the winter weary road. HE obeyed my every command, all of HIS awesome power at my fingertips. OH MR2, it has been such a long time and how I missed you. There is no feeling to compare with the first day out, with HIM! We drove around town, turning heads where ever we went. People staring, pointing and wishing they could be me. HE is the most wonderful machine and I'm proud to own him. My 1989 white, supercharged, T-Top, full-load MR2, makes life sing on a sunny spring day!

Sat Mar 28 22:44:07 1998 alan (ww-tr04.proxy.aol.com) Hello to all! I desperately need one stock front 14" alloy wheel. Having no luck with the classifieds. Can anyone help me out there. There has to be one lying about somewhere in MR2LAND. Cheers!
Sun Mar 29 07:04:45 1998 Dennet (holodeck.cistron.nl) Well I've been quite sick for the last week, because I had to miss my beloved mr2('85/n.a./green/bronze).The reason for this was a totally busted alternator, which, luckily for me, didn't go up in flames when it decided to bail out of this life. The worst part is that they haven't got an alternator in stock over here in Holland,so it has to come all the way from "the land of the rising fun" Japan. And that will take a week or two. Untill then I will have to drive highly underpowered frontwheeldrives and that really puts me down. I'm thinking of an entire restauration within the next year and I hope the bank agrees with me, until next time "ROAR ON!"
Sun Mar 29 10:43:53 1998 Dennis Beck (spyker30.sk.sympatico.ca) This site is great! More info on autocrossing is welcome. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places.

I live in Winnipeg so I had to store it over the winter, but am looking forward to getting it back on the road. Never fails to put a smile on my face. Great site, although reading it all can take a loong time.
Tue Mar 31 03:51:52 1998 J.W. (luv15pub96.bluewin.ch) I've just received the new Toyota brochure, the MR2 is still being offered for sale (new) at $ 29,900.00 - local tax included. Its crazy that Toyota has stopped offering in the States.

Tue Mar 31 15:36:12 1998 oohashi (ppp07.ppp-om.ariake.ne.jp) oohashi wrote(from Japan): It is not until today that I know.(^_^) "MR2 is very? popular in the world ." It is needless to say that MR2 is one of the most poor demand for sport car in Japan. The average annual sell is about 500~600! Only about 500! Would you believe it?. And secondhand market is have a large stock. So MR2 is comparatively inexpensive. I am going to buy one.(type:2000 G y1994) By the way,the price is 690000yen. (690000yen = US$5500 = UK2900) Greatest MR2!! . Hurray for the MR2!!!
Tue Mar 31 23:49:18 1998 Frank O'Donnell (ww-td03.proxy.aol.com) 1993 Yellow MR2 Turbo. If you live on the East coast and did not attend Dave Rothrock's DC Rally, you missed the time of your life. Over 40 MKIs and MKIIs all in one place, and then scattered in one long line across some of the most beautiful two-lane, unmarked pavement in western Virginia. A great group of enthusiasts, great weather, a great route and great cars.
