"If you are tired of slow response, sudden power surges and loss of boost during gear shifts, then Turbodyne is for you! By incorporating a high speed motor and a centrifugal one-way clutch at the compressor intake, Turbodyne will maintain your turbo speed at the onset of boost at all times....." Naturally this is for a car already with a turbo, but related non the less to "leafcharging". I'm not sure if the company is still around or what, but its more food for thought about the viability of using high power electrical systems. -Jeff V 91t ____ .-'& '-. / \ : o o ; ( (_ ) : ; \ __ / `-._____.-' Jeff Vogeding http://home.earthlink.net/~svogeding | ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 May 1997 11:22:32 -0800 From: svogeding@earthlink.net (Jefferson) Subject: Re: MR2 Re: ST? > >I really don't know myself. Adide from the unnecessary use of profanity, I have some qualms with the page. The first is that he's going go find out that you can't run the SC tranny in the '86 body, without doing some *major* work on the rear-end (cheaper to just buy an 0787 body). BTW, HKS recommends 4psi on the turbo because of the NA's higher compression... The Momo knob is shorter, but it won't give an overall shorter lever. The stock knob screws way down over the lever so that with either knob the top of the lever is about 1" from the top of the knob, so the overall length is the same either way -- the stock knob just covers more of the shaft. The VVT-i system also increases torque (!!!) from 141 lb ft at 4800rpm to 152 lb ft at 6000rpm. The engine is used in both the standard body SS-II and the wilder SS-III, which has an aero kit, large rear spoiler, and body colored alloy wheels, like the acura integra Type-R.
