That option was available in 1985 before the "aero package" option was available. I always thought it was interesting, but not really pretty (at least that was MY opinion...) It was a dark green top and a sort of tan or beige bottom. The seats (if cloth) also carried that theme, I believe, in the early versions, or at least the lighter panels on the seats were that beige color. None of these cars behave like 8 cyl torque monsters or trucks, to make any particular gear unnecessary and why would you be surprised if it's more difficult for the synchros to mate the action of the higher rotational speed differential resulting from having skipped a gear? Gearboxes are expensive...why hasten their destruction by putting such demands on them? The potential long term negative impact of this practice is likely as destructive as that of downshifting without properly mating engine speed to road speed...with the difference that at least that is occurring without a load on the engine. When you upshift skipping gears, you're also potentially lugging the engine when you've skipped the gear...unless you've reved it close to the red to be able to skip the following gear... I've never felt my car had too many gears...in fact, quite the opposite. Happy Holidays everyone Tommy Guttmann tools@tooltech.qc.ca Montreal, Canada www.tooltech.qc.ca tel. It's the same one that was featured in Turbo in the September issue. The unit monitors air/fuel mixture ratio and injector duty cycle. It has a series of lights that display different colors for a quick and easy read of what is going on. Since I don't yet have my shop manuals, I was wondering if anyone knows how to wire this thing? There are only 4 wires, one is for positive battery power, another is for ground. The two wires I'm not certain about are the O2 sensor signal wire and the fuel injector control wire (at the ECU). Does anyone know where the best place is to splice into these wires and how to identify these wires on a 93 turbo?
