For the Trip. Hello again everyone! One more week.... and we'll be off for the big trip! A little while ago I posted a few messages about the trip my father and I are taking..... we live in London, Ontario Canada.... and I own a 91 NA. We will be driving it south to Florda....then accross I-10 up I-25 through Albuquerque where we will be meeting up with Wendy and Vernon (and hopefully Cal as well). We will then be traveling along I-40 and up to Vegas. Then making our way to Sanfrancisco. After spending a few weeks in the Bay area...we are heading back accross through Nevada, Utah Colorado etc... The lenght of the trip (including the stay in Ca.) will be about 1 month. If anyone else is along the rought ...and are interested in meeting up ....please let me know as soon as possible. Also...anyone else in the Albuquerque are that would like to meet up with Wendy, Vernon, Cal and I on the Saturday (Jan. 6th)....please contact me! - ------- As for the info I have promised to many people about the cool air intake.... I will have this ready when I return. Thanks everyone.... have a GREAT holiday..and a VERY happy new year!! I'll talk to you all in Feb. - --------------------------------------------- Derek Motloch - 91na dmotloch@serix.com http://serix.com/~dmotloch/ - --------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ From: "Mark A. Most all are being autocrossed. Rich and Marchell Fletcher (SCCA Solo II A&B Stock National Champions from Colorado) sold theirs in September to Dean Smith and Ann Klem in Kentucky. Instead of racing against the "Fletcher-mobile" once a year, my co-driver and I will likely have the opportunity to see it the entire CenDiv season in '96. :) Happy Holidays everyone! Heather (co-driver/girlfriend) will be flying to Salt Lake City, Utah this afternoon to see my family and do some downhill skiing. Summers-SysAdmin" Date: Sat, 23 Dec 1995 9:18:15 PST Subject: Uniden BearTracker for sale I have a uniden BearTracker scanner for sale. It has pre-programmed scanning with highway patrol warning alert system. The uniden BearTracker is a must if you drive the interstates. This unit has the ability to alert the driver both audibly and visually to the presense of Highway Patrol units within a three mile radius, even when they are not using radar. This is not a radar detector, it is a sophisticated pre-programmed mobile scanner/receiver that responds to radio waves emitted from a special secondary transmitter which has recently been installed in most highway patrol vehicles. Alarm Features: Listens for the frequency assigned to Mobile Extender transmitters used in most highway patrol vehicles Upon entering the three mile radius of these transmissions the BearTracker provides you a visual and audible alarm. Scanner features: Fully pre-programmed memory contains all frequencies for Highway Patrol, D.O.T., local police and weather. You only have to select the state which you are in and you are ready to go. These categories are each users selectable. Band coverate includes low, high, UHF and UHF T public service bands so you won't miss out on any of the action. Delete permits you to skip unwanted frequencies when scanning. Priority insures that you will not miss an alarm while listening to transmissions on another frequency. Scan delay is a patented feature that automatically adds a 2 second delay to all channels scanned so you won't miss the response transmission. Patented track tuning receives frequencies across the full band without any adjustments. Circuitry is automatically aligned to each frequency received. The BearTracker compliments a radar detector. It alerts you to the presence of highway patrol vehicles even when they are not using radar. The only protection against all forms of speed measurement radar, VASCAR Airplane, clocking and laser. Memory protection provides 60 days of protection in case of power failure. This preserves your state selection, mode selection and deletes, so the unit will power up in the exact condition which it was in when you turned it off. Rugged construction specially designed to withstand the rigors of the mobile environment. Originally paid $129.95, asking $89.95 Please send me email if you want to purchase it. - -- + ------------------------------------------------- + + +++ N E C +++ +++ A M E R I C A +++ + + ------------------------------------------------- + + Marc L. Mine was recently stolen and I know the dealer wants a fortune to replace it. I would very much like to replace it with the stock head unit rather than go aftermarket. So if anyone has one that they want to sell E-mail me with your phone # and the price. P.S. The stickers have gone in to production as of today they SHOULD be ready by next week. In my opinion the engine body theoretically should be at the highest practical temperature in order to absorb as little as possible from the energy (heat) produced during combustion. Given an engine with special coatings that would not require lubricants, say ceramic coated or totally ceramic construction, the engine body temperature could be very high. Good insulation to reflect heat as little as possible would also help. Since the difference between combustion temp and external environment temp is the measure of energy transfer the lowest the external temp the better. Given environmental restrictions again we see that during cold days our machines operate more efficiently. Do not forget that airplanes take into account the environmental temp at takeoff to control maximum loading capacity. At second thought the overall engine temp does NOT have to be high if the combustion cylinder could be properly insulated from the rest of the engine to avoid heat absorption from the combustion to the engine walls....the ideal engine is here-now being designed....OK everybody one more try....lets have your second thoughts!!!!!!!!!
