If you break the main seal, you can adjust the spring tension of the meter flap (tighter spring makes it lean, looser makes it rich). Don't forget to mark the factory setting! Also, if you drill out the circular aluminum plug, idle mixture can be altered. I finally got re-subscribed and now I would like to catch up on what I have missed. The last digest I received was #10 and I just received #22. Is there an archive of Digests from #11 to #21 anywhere? Or, if anyone has a copy of these, could they forward a copy of them to me? I had posted a message about changing a 1985 MR2 with California emissions to non-California emissions and I never received any replies. I would like to find out if anyone had any ideas on this subject. Goes through a quart of oil a week, blue smoke on starting up for a few minutes. Diagnosis of this group was valve guide wear. Quotes I have received for work start at $2,000. Despite this, it runs wonderfully, although the A/C just gave out (leaky compressor, I believe they said). One suggestion I've received was to just put in a brand-new engine. I have no idea whether these are even available, let alone how much they cost, but I can start asking around. Suggestions welcomed. The more honest mechanics say that if I'm going to keep the car, I should do a lot more work on it at the same time, e.g., replace the clutch (which is still the factory original!). It still shifts fine but the mechanic inspecting it said it has nearly worn out. Yeah, at 200k, most people say it's time to get a new car regardless of how well this one's doing. But they don't understand... it's an MR-2!!! What to do, what to do... Peter J. PS means PhferdStruck (or something close to that), german for horsepower. 1 kW = 1.36 PS 1 kW = 1.34 hp 1 PS = 0.99 hp If you're now wondering where you can find that ~300hp Celica, find a used Group A rally version ;) The official maximum power limit for Group A is 300, so most manufacturers quote 299. - -- Matti Kalalahti | Toyota Carina Coupe GT-T TwinCam Turbo '82 k124476@ee.tut.fi | RWD * IRS * 3T-GTEU * 195+-15hp@4200-6700rpm A Huge Evergrowing WWW Home Page * http://proffa.cc.tut.fi/~k124476/ ------------------------------ From: "Alexander J.
