mr2-digest Saturday, 21 October 1995 Volume 01 : Number 008 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: uunet!diane.csg.mot.com!mikep (Mike Pittelkow) Date: Fri, 20 Oct 1995 10:19:25 -0500 Subject: Stickers, my vote, I too would much prefer the Driggs sticker w/ a turbo car (to get rid of the stripe down the side) - certainly gets my vote as best of the bunch, although I expect it'll cost big bucks to have printed (particularly as a removable interior sticker!) Saw something funny (please, oh please, don't let this start another two week "american cars suck" flame war....) last night. Local news listed the Top three cars found by the nat. hiway board, and the WORST three cars (all cars got rated, I don't know where the MR2 fell. Top three (I hope I'm getting this close to right) 1) Volvo 840 2) Saab (somethingorother, sorry) 3) Mercedes 190 D/E Worst three (#1 is the WORST, #3 is the BEST of the three, for safety) 1) Geo Tracker 2) Chevy Corvette 3) Amigo (I think... I was laughing too hard by this time) The ratings were in deaths per accident, I think. +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | mikep@diane.csg.mot.com | Email to mr2_faq_request@diane.csg.mot.com | +--------------------------+ with subject "FAQ" for a copy of the most recent| |1993 MR2Turbo #223 FRINGE1| MR2 FAQ. The boost listed, or bleed off for the pop off valve more specifically, is 3.6 for the 5 speed and 4.2 for the automatic (unfortunately I don't remember the units exactly) ; that's 20% percent. If some knowledgeable person knows anything different than what the factory manual says, then let them speak. We are not Paul had this in mind when he created it (he does this stuff for a living, probably took him 10-15mins to do :-) If you think the logo is nice, you should see the MR2 t-shirt/hat/jacket designs he did, very nice indeed... Personally, I like Paul's design too as it's clean, visually pleasing, and something that I'd be willing to put on my window. (Then again, I'm baised as Paul is a good friend of mine :-) > really a club, so the "Club Member" is technically not correct, but I like > it anyway. What do you want it to say? (Paul just took a guess at the wording as I just phoned him up and said design me an MR2 club sticker :-) Internet MR2 Group Member? Internet MR2 Owners Group? Internet MR2 Owners Group Member? Anyway, if people want to decide on the wording FIRST, all the designers can work out their designs from there. Also, I am no longer opposed to adding the MR2 Web site address to the sticker now that I have mr2.com registered to me, I can take this address with me should I ever have to move the site to a new server. So adding: http://www.mr2.com/ is ok if people want to do this. I believe that it also had an intercooler. They were using the windshield washer bottle as the source and even mentioned that the glycol in the windshield washer fluid gave better cooling than just straight water. If I remember they said that there was enough for a half hour's running at boost.
